Unipetrol Doprava enters Slovak railway network

30-01-2019

Unipetrol Doprava has received the Security Carrier Certificate for Slovakia after having successfully passed the respective certification process. At the end of 2018, the Slovak Transport Authority issued Security Certificate No. SK 1220180020 to UNIDO. This document entitles UNIDO to enter the Slovak railway network and perform transport services using own locomotives and staff. "This step will not only boost our competitive edge but will also increase the quality of transport services carried out for the customers of the PKN Orlen/UNIPETROL Group. It will no longer be necessary to hand over selected trains for the consecutive transport. The trains will seamlessly continue across the border station without swapping, which will save both time and money,” says UNIDO Executive Zbigniew Jastrzebski. He adds that a major investment in UNIDO’s loco fleet has strongly contributed to the successful managing of this challenging legislative process. The modern locomotives are also approved for the Slovak railway network. As part of a reputable international group, UNIDO wants to continue similar projects because they substantially increase the performance growth potential.
